Transforming Lives | Creating Opportunities
our mission is to provide every child with the chance to have a high-quality primary education regardless of their family’s income
Currently, there are approximately 2.7 Billion people living on less than $2 a day. In their communities, there is a huge gap between the education offered and the needs of the population. Too often the schools available to them fail. Teachers are absent from class as much as 47% of the time, teaching only 2 hours and 19 minutes a day. 65% of teachers can’t pass exams based on the curriculum they teach. Not surprisingly, many of the children who manage to complete primary school can’t even read at the second grade level. To make matters worse, these schools can be expensive. Even “free” government schools can cost anywhere between $2 and $12 per month after all of the additional fees (some sanctioned, some not) are added up
Lack of clean drinking water and proper health diagnosis play a pivotal role in school attendance, statistics show that the attendance in rural areas is 56% at average because of water borne diseases. Lifeline Africa™ has on the ground research that shows that the relationship between education, clean & safe drinking water and healthcare is one that is enmeshed with each other.
Our grassroots Education initiative provides basic and necessary education to children in rural areas where there are no schools. Our initiative also provides a good breakfast and a filling lunch to all children. Our schools are run by volunteers and have proven to be a success. We know this because the smiling faces say it all, after all Rome wasn't built on an empty stomach was it?
